If you are looking for an exclusive, historic and exquisite venue for your ceremony, photos and reception then look no further than Gabbinbar Homestead & gardens.
Set amidst expansive gardens featuring 100 year old fig, pine, magnolia and gum trees “Gabbinbar” meaning a ‘place of peace’ truly is a peaceful, beautiful place.
The homestead was constructed in 1863 near the escarpment of the Toowoomba range and was the dwelling of a past Queensland Premier and the summer home for numerous Queensland Governors.
Today the homestead sits on a large parcel of land in suburban Toowoomba close to motels and shopping centres and all amenities, however, when you pass through the entry gates and follow the winding pebbled drive through an avenue of trees there is no intrusion from the outside world.
Here you and your guests will experience the charm and graciousness of a bygone era.
Photographic opportunities are endless as you stroll through the grounds past the old school house, across the croquet lawn, past the tennis court or simply sit by the fountains.
The 'Conservatory' with its spectacular glass ceiling welcomes warm sunsets at dusk and reflects candlelight from the tables at night. Five sets of double french doors open out onto the hedged Southern terrace with views of silky oak trees and gorgeous fields beyond. Outdoor receptions are also possible in a marquee or under the stars.
